About the Event

Bridges out of Poverty training (Strategies for Professionals and Communities) provides an overview of the framework for understanding poverty through the examination of economic classes and how they impact an individual’s thinking, learning, and actions. This training event is intended for Foster Together MN Board Members, Volunteers, and Foster Parents.

We will explore the resources, mental models, and hidden rules of economic class. Participants will gain powerful insights into creating meaningful, mutually respectful relationships, breaking barriers, and building bridges for stronger, more transformational organizations and communities.

Who should attend? Foster Together MN Board Members, Volunteers, and Foster Parents.

Cost: $15/person (if cost is at all a barrier, please email micayla@fostertogethermn.org for a promo code)

Cost Includes: Dinner, Bridges out of Poverty Book, and Training

Event Schedule:

  • 5:00-5:30pm – Dinner & Introductions
  • 5:30-8:30pm – Training (will include breaks)

About the Trainer

Jane Palmer is the Program Director of Give Back Minnesota, a national non-profit dedicated to serving youth with adverse childhood experiences and barriers to educational success. Give Back provides youth long-term 1:1 coaching, career, and financial guidance so they can obtain post-secondary education, a sustainable career, and a brighter future.

Jane has 25 years of experience in corrections, non-profit management, and ministry. She has served as a county Probation Officer, Executive Director of a Christian mentoring program, and a Ministry Relations Manager with Joni and Friends Disability Ministry. Jane has a bachelor’s degree in Corrections, and a Master’s in Human Services Administration.

Jane was first certified as a Bridges out of Poverty Trainer in 2011, and is passionate about working with individuals and families who have been marginalized and live without hope or future vision.
