About the Event
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a two-part event for foster, kinship and adoptive parents.
Part I: Trauma Training (4:00-5:30pm)
The first half will be spent with Meagan Galbari, MA, LPCC, to learn about trauma and attachment. This 90-minute training will focus on how to parent children who come from hard places. We will start with highlighting key aspects of how trauma impacts brain development and then move into practical parenting strategies. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of trauma, which is essential in looking at challenging behaviors through a trauma-focused lens. Attendees will leave with parenting strategies that can be immediately implemented.
We will meet in the Yosemite Room at the Apple Valley Community Center: 14603 Hayes Road, Apple Valley MN 55124.
You will receive a Certificate of Attendance for 90-minutes towards your annual training hours.
Part II: Social Hour at Barley + Vine (6:00-7:30pm)
The second half of the night will be an opportunity to meet other foster & adoptive parents on a similar journey. We will meet at Barley & Vine in Lakeville for a social hour (appetizers provided).
