About the Event

We know:

  • Grief/Loss is a major dynamic in foster care/adoption/kinship placements.
  • We know grief/loss applies to both youth and parents.
  • Grief is a normal emotional reaction to experiencing a loss.

But now what?

In this 2-hour training, we will review the definitions of grief, and the stages of grief before talking about concrete strategies to help cope with the grief. This training will review grief from all perspectives (child, birth family and foster family). We will end with discussion triggers, tips and other tools for coping.

Cost: $10 per person or $15 per couple

Note: if cost is at all a barrier, please email us (connect@fostertogethermn.org) and we'll give you a promo code to waive the fees.

Dinner will be provided. Please email us at connect@fostertogethermn.org if you have any food allergies/intolerances.

This event is for parents/caregivers only. In order to honor the safe space, there will be no children/youth of any age or social service professionals allowed.

This training is presented by Meagan Galbari, MA, LPCC. You will receive a Certificate of Attendance for 120-minutes towards your annual training hours.
